PROFILE - Luke Andrews BArch (hons) - Auck, NZ

To date, I have had a varied career in architecture, preceded by practical experience in construction / carpentry in order to gain knowledge of the industry.

I graduated from University of Auckland Bachelor of Architecture with honours in 2006.

Most recent employment was for boutique/high end, design-based, leading architecture firms, Patterson Associates Ltd where I worked for one year and, prior to that, four years at Ponting Fitzgerald Ltd. I was directly involved in all stages through conceptual design, developed design, design visualisation and presentation, contract documentation, tender preparation and management, liaison with clients, consultants, and territorial authorities throughout New Zealand.

Between 2010-2011, I worked independently on projects ranging from minor renovations to new build residential dwelling which completed construction in 2012.

Previous employment background includes four years carpentry, working mainly on residential projects through all stages of construction on new builds and major renovations. I worked in construction prior to and during studying architecture.

Other employment includes digital animation and instructing martial arts classes.

Less recent employment includes work in the service / hospitality industry in Europe where I lived for approximately eighteen months before returning to New Zealand to study architecture.

I completed my first year of architectural studies at Unitec and then transferred to the University of Auckland for the remaining four years.

I offer a broad range of applicable creative and technical skills, commitment, integrity and experience as a culmination of both my work and life experience.
